Nordic representation — from the Gulf

Nordic tourism, represented in the Gulf.

SiSu Beyond is the on-the-ground trade office Nordic operators, resorts and destinations use to open the GCC market — building the buyer relationships that turn a beautiful product into bookings.

What we bring

Three things a Nordic operator can't achieve from back home.

Presence.

An office in the market, without the office.

A permanent Gulf-based voice for your product — fielding enquiries, attending trade events, and holding the relationships between roadshows.

Relationships.

Direct lines to the people who sell.

Ongoing accounts with the tour operators, DMCs and travel agencies who package Nordic product and sell it to the region's outbound travellers.

Fluency.

Two cultures, one conversation.

Nordic-native and UAE-resident — the cultural fluency to translate what makes your product distinctive for buyers in the Gulf region.

Services

The trade infrastructure of a Gulf office.

Market representation

Your permanent Gulf-based presence — enquiries handled, trade events attended, relationships kept warm between visits.

Trade sales

Fielding, quoting, and closing enquiries with the region's operators and agencies who want your product on their shelf.

Contracting & rates

Rate structures and contract terms shaped the way GCC agents actually buy — not the way European wholesalers do.

Market intelligence

Structured reporting on what Gulf travellers are asking for, how competitors are priced, and where your product fits.

About

The company is called SiSu Beyond for a reason.

Sisu is a Finnish word for a quiet, persistent resolve — the kind of standard-holding that runs through the country's best tourism operators. We named the company after it because that's the standard we hold ourselves to when we represent someone in a market they don't yet know.

About SiSu Beyond

A trade office for Nordic tourism — based where the buyers are.

Founded on a simple observation: Nordic tourism has the product, but not the presence in the fastest-growing outbound travel market in the world.

The story

The best ideas come from direct experience, and this one was no exception. It took shape while working in international tourism sales and regularly visiting the UAE. Year after year, the GCC's outbound travel market has grown into one of the world's most valuable — spending per traveller among the highest anywhere, appetite for cool-climate summer escapes stronger every season, and Nordic product ideally positioned to answer it.

And year after year, that same Nordic product has stayed all but invisible here. Trade fairs are attended once and then forgotten. Enquiries land in northern inboxes at 4pm local time and get answered a week later. Little to no personal contact. The operators who could package a Swedish forest lodge or a Norwegian fjord cruise for a Riyadh family don't know who to call. They would like the process to be simple and easy, and are not interested in learning all the ins and outs of doing business in the Nordics. If only there was someone locally to call, to work with.

SiSu Beyond exists to bridge that gap. To seamlessly connect the Nordic tourism product with the GCC buyer.

Different, by design

What makes SiSu Beyond different from a general rep firm.

  • Nordic-first

    Nordic-only representation.

Not a rep firm with a Nordic desk. A firm that only represents Nordic product, and operates from inside the GCC market.

  • Trade-facing

    Trade, not tourism marketing.

We work with the operators who sell to travellers, not with travellers directly. Cultivating buyer relations long term.

  • Small

    A limited roster, by choice.

A representation firm that takes on too many clients ceases to represent any of them well. As a small operator we provide individual focus.

  • Bicultural

    Inside knowledge of both cultures.

Nothing is lost between what a Gulf buyer asks and what a Nordic operator understands.

Questions

Common questions.

What size of operator do you work with? +

From one-person businesses to national tourism boards. What matters more is the fit between what you offer and what the GCC market is asking for.

What does representation cost? +

Engagements are quoted per client. Most take the form of a monthly retainer with a modest performance component. Another option is a fixed fee for a certain package of services plus a larger commission on realised bookings. It is also possible to purchase isolated engagements or market intelligence.

How quickly do bookings start? +

Trade sales cycles in the GCC are relationship-led, so meaningful booking volume usually starts in months 4–9. Enquiries begin arriving much sooner.

Do you handle consumer marketing? +

No. We are a trade representation firm, working with the operators who sell to travellers. Consumer marketing is a separate discipline, and we can recommend partners who do it well.

Where are you based? +

The UAE, with excellent connectivity across the GCC, and a base in Finland too.
